It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey

Even though I read two books this week, I don’t feel like I had a productive reading week sadly. Mainly this is because I read 480 pages of Markus Zusak’s The Book Thief in one day. While it’s true I loved this book more than words can ever hope to express (if you haven’t read it yet, do yourself a favour, READ IT ASAP!), I’ve found it difficult to pick up a book since, for you see the characters in that book were so real and their story so heartbreaking beautiful and haunting that I’ve had a difficult time thinking of anything else! I can’t even pick up another book at the moment. Instead I went out and brought all of Markus Zusak’s other books straight away!

Over the weekend book bloggers gave back to all our fabulous Australian Authors by giving away Aussie books in the AUSTRALIA DAY BLOG HOP GIVEAWAY. I’m participating this year, and supporting some of my favourite local authors who’ve just released new books. Comp closes on the 28th so make sure you enter to win one of 6 books that I’m giving away. Entries can be made here.To see the full list of books being given away head on over to Book’d Out.

FINAL CHANCE: Don’t forget to subscribe to this blog using either the wordpress +follow button or your email for your chance to win a signed copy of Matthew Reilly’s The Tournament! Entries close 11am on Wednesday 28th January with winners announced the same day.

      Hey Shelleyrae,
I’ve seen the movie since and it’s really good. Since the rating is pretty low (PG I think) its a bit sanitised in the way that there’s no blood or anything really. But overall its a really close adaptation of the book. They changed a couple of things, left a few other characters out etc, but essentially its the same story. I’m going to go and see it again next week I think.
