It's Monday! What Are You Reading

Previously hosted by Sheila @ Book Journey; Now Hosted by Book Date

I seriously had the most EPIC weekend any of could ever ask for. Kell and Ryn outdid themselves with the first ever Kell’s Bookmark Clique Readers Retreat which was held on the central coast over the weekend. 23 book loving women descended on the coast for what can only be described as a loud, hilarious and memory making weekend of endless book discussions and friendships made and rekindled. It was awesome! I came home yesterday completely and utterly exhausted, but so looking forward to the next one (which we started brain storming on Saturday night).

Currently Reading:

Emelina Flores has nothing. Her home in Ruina has been ravaged by war; her parents were killed and her sister was kidnapped. Even though Em is only a useless Ruined – completely lacking any magic – she is determined to get revenge.

Her plan is simple: She will infiltrate the enemy’s kingdom, posing as the crown prince’s betrothed. She will lead an ambush. She will kill the king and everyone he holds dear, including his son.

The closer Em gets to the prince, though, the more she questions her mission. Her rage-filled heart begins to soften. But with her life – and her family – on the line, love could be Em’s deadliest mistake.

Just Finished:

I’m just starting Night Shift by Charlaine Harris. I really enjoyed her two previous books in this series so looking forward to catching up with some old friends.

I’ve only read her Sookie series and even then I stopped when story lines started repeating. I have been told that I’ll love her other books though. Do you have a favourite of her series?

I enjoyed her Sookie series though I will admit the last couple of books kind of went a little off course. I really enjoyed the Lily Bard series and the Harper Connelly series both more mystery and no vampires. The couple of the Aurora Teagarden series that I have been able to get hold of have been good too. again more mystery. The Midnight series is an interesting collection of misfits and again probably classifies and mystery with just a touch of the paranormal thrown in to make it interesting.
