BLOGMAS 2021: The Festive Christmas Book Tag

The Festive Christmas Book Tag was originally created by Girlreading and was posted on  12th December 2015

1) A fictional family you would like to spend christmas dinner with?

The Bridgerton clan. I’ve read five of the books this year and thoroughly enjoyed my time with each and every member of that family. I think the meal would be delicious, but the conversation and antics would be better … can you imagine what would happen at Christmas dinner in that household!

2) A bookish item you would like to receive as a gift?

Can it be money TOWARDS a new bookish item? I’m currently eyeing off new bookshelves and a reading chair. Neither option are cheap, so it’s a long term goal atm.

3) A fictional character you think would make a perfect christmas elf?

Ash and Lunah from the Frostheart books by Jamie Littler. These two have some manic energy and given that Ash has song weaver abilities (aka magical powers), who better to help spread the magic of Christmas than Ash and his trust sidekick and best friend Lunah.

4) Match a book to it’s perfect christmas song.

All I Want For Christmas by Mariah Carey with The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood … this was a recent read for me, but OMG it was amazing. While I don’t particularly like All I Want For Christmas due to how overhyped it is, the longing makes it the perfect accompaniment to The Love Hypothesis.

5) Bah Humbug. A book or fictional character you’ve been disappointed in and should be put on the naughty list?

Andrew from In A Holidaze by Christina Lauren … Mae our heroine tells him she has been in love with him since forever, and his response ‘I didn’t realise you were an option.’ I’m sure that was intended as romantic, but it’s really not. His character flipped and flopped about for way too much of the book and while I like Mae’s character development, I was seriously waiting for Mae to end up with someone else … someone who would treat her with respect, and love her just as she is.

6) A book or a fictional character you think deserves more love and appreciation and deserve to be put on the nice list?

Georgia is such an amazing character and her story had a profound effect on me this year. From the moment I met Georgia, she made me think and reasses elements of my life and those around me. This book was incredibly powerful, and Georgia went through hell and back learning who she was and fighting for her own place in the world.

7) Red, Gold and Green. A book cover that has a wonderfully christmasy feel to it.

Mainly because I’m desperate to read this book this week and it took me FOREVER to track a copy down.

8) A book or series you love so much, you want everyone to find under their christmas tree this year so they can read it and love it too?

Technically this book isn’t out yet. Technically I haven’t even read it yet … but none of that matters because I know without a doubt that this book will be a five star read for me and that Penelope Janu is going to rip my heart out before putting the pieces back together again.
